PMIHR Highlights

A Message from Our President, René Rosenberg

Stay Connected. Stay Engaged. Stay Growing.
One of the best ways to stay connected with everything happening at PMI Hampton Roads is through our website, pmihr.org. We continue to enhance the site to make it easier to find upcoming events, explore professional development opportunities, and stay engaged with our chapter community. I encourage you to visit the site and share your feedback—your input helps us continuously improve how we serve our members.

Expanding Networking Opportunities
This year, we’re intentionally expanding our networking formats to create more ways for members to connect, collaborate, and build meaningful professional relationships. A great example of this is Painting with a Twist, a creative, sold-out event that blends learning, conversation, and connection in a more relaxed setting. It reflects our commitment to offering experiences that go beyond traditional meetings.

Pints & PDUs — Northside and Southside
We’re also excited to share that Pints & PDUs will now be held monthly on both the Northside and Southside. By rotating locations, we’re making it easier for members across the region to participate and engage locally, while strengthening connections across the entire Hampton Roads community.

What’s Coming Up
We have a strong lineup of upcoming chapter meetings, virtual sessions, and community events planned. We'll be covering timely topics such as leadership, AI, automation, and real-world project delivery challenges. Be sure to check the Events section on pmihr.org regularly, as new opportunities are added throughout the year.

Thank you for being part of PMI Hampton Roads! Your engagement and feedback continue to shape how we grow and evolve as a chapter. I look forward to connecting with you at an upcoming event.

There is also a virtual option for those unable to attend in-person. Register here.

Volunteer Opportunities

Unleash your potential and leave an indelible imprint on PMI and the profession.

Even if there aren't any opportunities that fit your skills at the moment, don't worry! Positions open up throughout the year, and filling out the volunteer interest questionnaire will add you to the volunteer pool. Reach out to the VP of Volunteers for more information about available positions.

Vice President of Special Projects- We’re looking for a hard-charging, proactive leader to join our Board as VP of Special Projects. Do you want to own big outcomes, move fast, and put your stamp on high-visibility chapter work?

This position plans our annual flagship event: the Professional Development Conference (PDC). It’s a full-day experience with standout speakers, meaningful networking, great food, giveaways, and the opportunity for attendees to earn PDUs to maintain their PMI certifications. Our 2025 PDC was record-breaking, and we’re building on that momentum with bigger goals and bigger venues.
If you’re the type who sees what needs to happen and makes it happen, this is your lane.

Study Group Instructor- The PMIHR Study Group Instructor is responsible for leading the scheduled PMP Study Group. This includes accepting and providing orientation for new members of the group. The instructor will provide study materials or a list of study materials and information on how to obtain the latest PMBOK (Project Management Book of Knowledge).

If you are working as a project manager in the civilian sector, WE NEED YOU!  PMIHR is looking for project managers to support the "757 Career Summit," an event hosted by Hampton Roads Veterans Employment Center (HRVEC).
