Position Description




Director of Programs

Assists the Vice President of Programs in researching, interviewing and booking speakers related to project management for chapter meetings and programs.




Director of Member Outreach

The Director of Member Outreach would work with the Membership team to develop a plan to improve communication with our members using data from the PMI chapter survey. We have 986 members as of January 2016 and the Board of Directors would like to improve membership value via an improved outreach program. 




Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager will work as part of the PMIHR Marketing team to drive strategy and execution in the development and delivery of messages that raise community awareness of and participation in chapter activities.




Website Administrator 

Position is responsible for the administration of the PMI HR website and the support of Star Chapter 




A/V Technical Coordinator 

Support PMI HR chapter meetings and special projects related to Audio/Visual (A/V) solicitations, negotiations and event setup. 




Sponsorship Account Manager  

Contact and follow-up with sponsor leads for continuing and event opportunities. Assist in finding new and retaining exisiting sponsors.






Program Team Members 

Assists the VP and Director of Programs in researching, interviewing and booking speakers related to project management for chapter meetings and programs.




Registered Company Coordinator(s)


Registered Company Coordinators (RCCs) are expected to actively participate in their role as follows:

1. Give permission to have your name published in the PMI Hampton Roads website and communications stating that you are the contact in your company for questions about PMI Hampton Roads Chapter.
2. Proactively establish yourself as the focal point within your organization for communications about PMI Hampton Roads Chapter.
3. Actively participate with other PMI Hampton Roads Chapter Committees to develop and implement methods to attract membership interest and involvement within your organization.
4. Obtain an executive sponsor willing to support your efforts to promote professionalism in project management. Solicitations will not be directed to this person. However, sponsors may be invited as guests and recognized during membership meetings.
5. Attend six (6) regular PMI Hampton Roads Chapter membership meetings per year (ideally every other month).




Military Liaison 

The purpose of the Military Liaison is to serve as a liaison between local chapter members and resources of the local chapter of PMI and local base or regional military membership geographically located to the chapter. The Military Liaison is responsible for promoting membership benefits of the PMI chapter to the local members of the military base or other military organization. The Military Liaison will act as a guide and bridge to military personnel interested in PMI for Q&A, membership benefits/discounts, as well as certification support, networking and career connectivity. 



Director of Young Professionals

The purpose of the Director of Young Professionals is to be responsible for assisting with the needs of chapter Young Professionals membership, including recruiting and retaining Young Professionals in Hampton Roads Area of Virginia. As well as, reach out to local Colleges and Universities for setting up a Student Chapter, membership benefits/discounts, certification support, networking and career connectivity.
