Elected or appointed volunteer responsible for chapter-based marketing and public relations to increase awareness of both the chapter and the PMI brand within the territory. The VP of Marketing will develop and execute an integrated marketing and public relations program to support member acquisition, member retention, event promotion, outreach activities, sponsorships and other related activities in alignment with the chapter’s strategic objectives. These activities shall be performed in accordance with chapter bylaws and PMI policies, brand guidelines and global marketing strategy.

Be the PMI HR Liason for PMIEF, which is the PMI Educational Foundation.

Director Local Communities, Peninsula 

Assist VP Local Communities to build local community awareness of PMI Hampton Roads Chapter initiatives on the Virginia Peninsula.  Also engage local PMI HR members in building events based on local communities interest on the peninsula.

Director Marketing

Proactive, innovative and out-of-the-box thinker needed to lead the development and execution of marketing strategy for the PMI Hampton Roads chapter.  Applicant should have knowledge of digital and traditional platforms, and intermediate to expert level experience skills with Microsoft PowerPoint / Microsoft Publisher / Adobe Photoshop / Adobe Photoshop video.

Director Membership Onboarding

Responsible for onboarding and managing expectations of new chapter members. 

  • Welcome new members during in-person events and make sure they are comfortable networking before leaving them on their own/match them with another board member if member needs a little more attention 
  • Help organize and moderate monthly new members Meet and Greet events 
  • Monthly reporting to the VP of Membership 
  • Develop and implement position succession and transition plan 
  • Think creatively when developing strategies to onboard new chapter members

Director Membership Retention

Responsible for leading and administering the Chapter Retention Program to achieve retention goals and targets.

  • Develop and administer member satisfaction surveys; analyze chapter data and develop strategic plan on implementing changes.
  • Engage members throughout the year to ensure their expectations are met.
  • Work with VP of Membership on developing chapter retention goals and strategies to achieve them

Professional Development

Director Mentoring

Responsible for leading and administering the Chapter Mentoring Program.

  • Maintain process & procedures documentation relating to the mentorship program
  • Communication to potential mentors and mentees
  • Mentor / Mentee matching and monitoring
  • Gather and act on feedback regarding the mentorship program
  • Monthly status report and other communication, as appropriate, to the VP of Professional Development
  • Develop and implement position succession and transition plan
  • Maintain budget for specific area of responsibility

Director Special Projects

Assist the VP of Special Projects with short-term and long­ term initiatives and projects as assigned by the President. This includes the annual Professional Development Conference (PDC), Leadership Institute Meetings (LIM), and other events as assigned by the Board.
